+1 We rented a Ford Transit in England and where told to empty it at night and leave it with the rear doors unlocked (some said to leave them open) so thieves don't break open the locks to see what is inside.

To the OP: dump the tech and the sound man. Seems like dramatic overkill for a hobby band.

With my new setup, I can get all FOH and my personal gear in the back of my wife's Pathfinder. The rest carry their own gear, including any sound reinforcement gear they need (like monitors.)

Your're damn skippy she's a rocket ship. I'm talkin' a 500+hp rocket ship at that! I've modded it, but just a smidgen, though . Why, I couldn't fathom going overboard with performance!! Not me, in a million years!! I've put carbon fiber hood, trunk lid, side mirrors, lower lip, etc., on the ground effects and such. And, that's just the outside of the car. I have WELL OVER $1,500.00 just in the exhaust. And, when it comes to the ceramic brakes & suspension, FORGET ABOUT IT. The brakes are so good, that your brains will shoot thru your forehead when I mash 'em. It breaks my heart to even think about the money spent, until I get behind the wheel, that is.
My first cousin has a 2012 ZR1, with minimal mods, (600+RWHP!) and needless to say, I can toy with him. And, that just kills him. It's all about the weight-to HP ratio.
I'm single, no kids (My very biggest regret), due to an illness. I'd give up EVERY, SINGLE, SOLITARY ITEM, including my home, to be blessed with a child. Oh, well. Until then (fingers crossed) my M5 will be my baby.....

If anyone's in the area nice scare.... Uh, I mean a nice Sunday drive, gimme a shout!!!

And, one more thing. Why is it that I can pull the trigger on a ride like that, but yet, I haven't purchasedany new gear in 15 years, or so?

For most of my gigs these days I can make it in in one trip (micro head, 115 cab, and gig bag on my MagnaCart handtruck, and my bass in a gig bag on my shoulders). If I need two cabs I throw an extra in the bed of the truck, but I still need a bed cover (will fix that in a few months). But, I can get everything else in the cab of my little Ford Ranger pickup for now.

Why, my band is a weekend band. We always gig with a full pa and sound man.

Wouldn't have it any other way.
