Talking I Feel Good!

Heya guys.

So, as some of you may have read in my 'My Band Staged A Coup' thread, I was pretty bummed out after losing the band I put together.

Shortly thereafter, I auditioned for a cover band and was rejected, and then three different projects other people were starting flaked out on me.

Now, all the sudden, I got two different jam/auditions (jamditions?) in a row. The first one was tonight, the next is tomorrow. Me and the two guitarists tonight really really gelled, and we're thinking about sticking together. we have sort of a Tool meets Soundgarden meets NIN thing going on, while the drummer just sorta had a Black Sabbath meets White Zombie thing. Great guy who just wants to play, but his preferences were way off of us strings guys.

Either way, I feel really good about this one, and tomorrow's jamdition ought to be fun too (one of the guitarists was going to it who was at the thing tonight, and we didn't even realize it till last night, so we already know we're cool together).

Basically, I'm stoked cause I have the beginnings of an awesome group, and it feels great to actually play music again. Like so awesome that despite hauling around a metric ass ton of gear and standing for five hours and ripping my fingers to the bone, and having a rip roaring migraine, I just can't stop smiling.

Thank God for small favors.

Little update, to further increase my feel goodiness.

Friday, got an interview for a job hiring same day, first jamdition turned into a nice semi-regular jam and the second turned into my new band: http://www.myspace.com/akingdomlost

And to top it all off, I got a couple scratch off tickets in the mail from a travel agency. One didn't win anything, the other one won $100k! Granted, it's prolly a scam, but hell, if it isn't, this could just very well be one of the best couple weeks in my life outside of my wedding and kids' births.

Nice when it 'clicks' from the first go.

Now go play the lotto, you're on a roll.

I hope that ticket is real!

If not, you might get stuck in a "time share" meeting for years..

Band and Scam?

Congrat man, look's like you landed on your feet. Hope the new band works out!

As for the scratch-off...it's a scam!

Peace.

Page looks good. You guys are off to a great start!
I went through a situation similar to yours. The best thing that ever happend to our band was when the great mutiny took place. Our drummer and guitarist bugged out on a gig night and left the singer and I stranded with no notice.

I reformed the band to a project of my choosing. I am now in prog rock heavin and gigaty giggin!

Glad to hear it all turned out good bro!
