Hi everyone, thanks for all your replies. I was at work and didn't have time to respond.

I now feel a lot more relaxed after reading the replies. This is my first band, and we have been together for 9-10 months. I have learned tons of stuff in this period, and I know I still have tons more to learn. I think twice before I criticize someone. I have to be certain that there's a problem with that person's playing, and I expect people to do the same. No one in our band is a full time musician, but they still have many years of experience. I try to learn from them, I respect their experience, but this doesn't mean that I like/wish to be treated this way..

I play bass to be happy, to be at peace. It's my one single break from life's various problems. Feeling frustrated/angry while making music? That's something I'd have never thought of (Oh the naivety!). I still feel a little bit uncomfortable during rehearsals. But now, it actually feels nice that I am not dealing with a weird problem. I will let this go now, and keep training my ear as well as my playing.. And on top of this, keeping a recorder handy seems like the most constructive idea. Actually, when I think about it now, those recordings have benefited all five of us.

"You do"
"No I don't"
"I wish we had recorded that so you could see"
"Maybe we should next week".

And we booked the session. Does this relate the sentence to the rest of the post? Or am I still not getting it
Oh, I see. When you said "booked," I thought that you guys were going into a studio and paying for studio time with this bad blood going on, which didn't sound like a good idea nor a natural response to the conflict. I would only book a studio after I was confident everyone knew what they were doing, it's a waste of money otherwise. Informally recording a practice so people can hear what they sound like and where the mistakes are makes perfect sense.

I've never experienced "blame the bassist," so I assume it's a particular problem with your bandmates. Recording and being able to document that it's unwarranted would seem like your best bet, but only if it's worth it to you to put up with these people in the first place.

ROFLMAO

Sorry, your only problem with English is you write so much better than a lot of the American kids. I mistook you for an Englishman.
