Unless your favorite band is an 80s hair band, in which case, um, carry on... I think I would crap myself if I were given the chance to join my favorite band, and thus, they wouldn't have me. Who wants a bass player that has dookie drawers?
Fill us in, let us know if you got the gig! |

(If it really is NIN that you're auditioning for, good luck to you! And tell me when you're done with that gig, I'd kill to fill that spot too!) |

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jan 2009 Location: New Jersey | | | UPDATE. So heres the deal. The drummer and guitarist came to watch me play in my current band. I just happened to have a show the day i had to meet up with the guitarist. haha!!!
So we meet at the mall for 20 minutes and talk to the singer, I didnt realize it at the time but the was like my interview. I thought i messed up because i was sorta not talking as much as I wanted too. but then I mentioned i had a gig that night and the guitarist was like YO LET ME COME SEE YOU SHRED. haha
Okay so I pick up the guitarist later touch base on personal junk and drive him with me to the gig. Get him in as my "tech" haha. then we get the drummer in. I was so nervous having them watch me, but i actually played better than i ever have. Only 2 minors hiccups. One song my glasses fell off, and another i forgot to unmute my bass. hey in an 11 song set it happens.
So I pack up my stuff and leave it with the other equipment like at any gig go to get food real fast with them. They tell me they like my playing and that im i dont belong in the band im in (in a good way)
It ends with them saying we need to "rock"
I get back to the club with them and its locked up. closed. my equipment locked up. or stolen who knows. (rickenbacker.... OMG)
the guitarist is mad cool and is even like yo man ill come with you tomorrow to get it if you want i feel really bad.
We go back to his place and chill, he shows me some songs, and i show him the ones i already learned. He explained they are looking for not just someone who can shred but some on they can mesh with and so far were meshing. Other than the fact than im sXe. but he said thats not an issue at all. (thankgoodness! too many bands have drugs as a requirement)
So now today I am meeting with him again to "rock" and learn more shizz.
Heres all I can say for now. If you are from new york city, you probably have heard of this band.
and oh yeah. sound guy called me. He put my stuff away! Always place nice with the staff at venues you never know when your gonna need them the most. I picked up my stuff right before i went to rock again. all is in order.! Im just so excited that i broke my number 1 rule. always put the guitars back in the car as soon as you can.
Wish me more luck guys. I'm on step 2.
