So yea, I've been doing a lot of one man band work.....I do a bit of grindcore, bit of death metal, bit of trance, but overall I'm just plain experimental. Check out my signature with the www.myspace.com/jimmygfactory and let me know what you guys think of what I've spent my semester on.

I've been wanting to make some deathtechno for quite some time now. BTW, I also signed the board on your personal page. You're lucky I wasn't as vulgar as I normally am with those things.

I just finished up a serialist jazz thing for some chick lol (and by serialist jazz I just mean parallel sixth chords all over the place) that i did in like 12 minutes.
the main challenge I'm after is avoiding using the distorted simulated guitar) in my writing. also, talking to the dude who runs www.myspace.com/abeautifullotus was a hoot, gave me some good pointers. I wanna be on the same scale as him and Otto Von Schirach in terms of midicore. anyways, right now it's tons more fun than bass for me.......bands are too complex these days.

I was in a band that did this on some songs and I was always uncomfortable with it.

| | | | first off. I tried to have members in bands of mine. Didn't work out; I only just got out of a band that lived five years without a guitarist. Second, "cheating" is non-existant. I know everyone wants to believe that it's cheating because they can't play it on their instrument, but the fact is, this is me, I don't make sense. I don't want any music I ever do to make any sense whatsoever. The music is supposed to make you question things other than "what the heck was that played on this". SO IF I'M "CHEATING" THAT AUTOMATICALLY SAYS TO ME YOUR JEALOUS YOU DIDN'T COME UP WITH IT FIRST.
and yes, i think i will gig it.

And if sequenzing things when playing live is cheating in music, so is playing covers.

| | | | their emphasis on noise is interesting. it gets a bit boring however. My goal is to prettymuch have a series of quick explosions which will shock and confuse the crowd in performance

I do admire the skill that it takes to put something like that all together.
As far as staying on topic, the term "one man band" makes me think of a guy with a harmonica around his neck and cymbals between his knees. You asked! |

| | | | lol true. I thought the stereotype of that type of person died out tho.
as far as my music.....It's only gonna get worse lol, and it's probably gonna get a lot worse before it gets better......Part of my problem is that I look a little to skeptically of todays music, and the impression I get is that if it's all been done before, why not try and pull music into a direction where it's like the shock horror films, except this being super shock music. I really do want to make something memorable tho, but at the same time, I like how I wierd people out....when I first heard bands like Agoraphobic Nosebleed or Magrudergrind i thought it was way too fast and crazy to comprehend. Now it's like second nature in understanding how they think.
