I think it's time to shelve this project

I was contacted back in May to be part of a new project.
The line-up includes some of the heavest names locally.
Everyone is a seasoned professional.
The rub is rehersals are constantly being canceled by one guy or another. In spite of
the level of experence everyone has no one is devoting the time to practice on their own.
At least not at the level I'm happy with.
We've got 40 good songs and the harmonies are there and the band does sound alright but
alright isn't good enough.
They're really going to be ticked at me when I bug out.
Nothing personal against them but it's just business.

Schedules and commitment...........the most difficult "non-musical" aspects of a band to deal with in my opinion.

Do you like the other folks in the band? Do you enjoy spending time with them? That's half the battle for me (the guys in my main band are some of my very best friends), so it's easier to put up with difficult schedules. Have you had the big "sit down and let's talk" meeting yet before you throw in the towel?

Give it all you've got before you give up on the project, I'd hate to see all those Ampegs not being used enough!

Sounds like it's already been shelved, passively if not directly...

yea ,no kidding.
I do like everyone very much. But i'm not into this for companionship.
I don't need to be in the basement drinking a beer and winging it.
If I wanted to wing it , I can always do a blues jam some where.
If they can't devote the time ,I understand that, but if thats the case, admit it like adults.
Yea, I think I've already made up my mind.
It's over baby.

Well, it's time. It happens.

Best of luck on the next project, whatever it may be!
