| insuring our band's equipment

Do any of you's have any experiencing insuring your band's equimpent (fire/theft) ?
I've talked to a couple insurance places and they don't wanna insure us since some of the equipment is individually owned.
We are a Christian band, so we'll mostly be playing in churches, i assume. Right now we don't even play one show a month, but someday hopefully we'll be out regularily. My biggest concern right now is that someone will break into our band room. Also, going out on the road with 1000's of dollars in gear packed in a van seems like a thief's invite.
At this point we've only got $12-13000 in gear, so not too high, but still, a lot of money.
Should we just risk it and hope for the best?? It's probably pretty high insurance premiums, does anybody know? |
