So I have always been a huge fan of Jamiroquai to the point of upstarting a tribute band several times, horns and all. I always ran into the same problem though, no vocalist that can do it right so it always fell apart....well no more. I found my frontman, he's perfect and extremely fitting so we're finally off and running.
I want to know from you guys what we should tackle first and foremost to represent this band. I know everything by them, and im doing all the arrangements so i have an idea which way this group will swing, but I am just curious to see how fellow bassists here Jamiroquai.
What do you suggest.
We're called The Kids by the way, look us up sometime.

honestly, your set should be to start the High Times Singles album.
Since you're in the US, their biggest album in the states was Travelling without Moving, so i'd play a lot of tracks off that as well. |

I also really like Blow Your Mind and Runaway (and everything else already mentioned).

Glad to see some fans of the old school as well as the new school here. Usually everyones is obsessed with Zender, but Fyfe and Turner have some great lines too. Quote:

Love Foolosophy
Space Cowboy
Mr. Moon
Scam
Starchild
Don't Give Hate A Chance
Runaway
Virtual Insanity
Cosmic Girl
Soul Education
I could go forever. This is the ULTIMATE dance club band... Basically 70s and 80s funk with hip (read: not cheesy) synths.
Bro you gotta make sure every band member is on point, because that's something about Jamiroquai. EVERYONE, from keys to drums, from guitar to percussion, to bass to the voice, need to be very very good musicians to pull it off.
Your guitar player better have some chops and funk.
Also you realize backup vocals are a must.
