Korg Pitch Black Tuner Question

Sign in to disble this ad
I love this new Tuner, works fine from the Tuner output from the front panel of my GK1001rb. However it does not work from the Tuner output of my GK-500MB.

Can I run it the the return send loop, if yes, how do I make the connections?

You would just run the effects loop send to the tuner input, then from the tuner to anything else in the loop and back to the return. However, there is a caveat.

The Pitchblack, like most pedals (and especially most tuners) isn't really meant to be placed in an effects loop. Effects loops are line level (read: AMPLIFIED) and pedals are generally meant for instrument level. Therefore, the Pitchblack ideally should be either between your instrument and amp, or plugged into the amp's tuner out. That isn't to say that you CAN'T use a pedal like the Pitchblack in the effects loop, but don't blame me if the line level input blows it up.

Hope that helps.

Got your old tuner? Seems there's something wrong with the tuner output on the GK-500MB. Plug it into the old tuner to verify.

why not just run it between the bass and the amp like it's meant for? it'll be in front of you, so you can step on it to mute like you're supposed to (without wasting time turning around), and since it's true bypass, it won't affect your sound at all.
