On our humble website we have some video. Unfortunately, the sound comes completely from the video camera. What have you used for yours? Here is a link to video

Before you get started: Yeah I'm old, and yeah I suck.

I use a free flash mp3 player to put jams up for the band to listen too...it isn't the best player in the world but it is free and very simple to implement.

Nice site btw.

Maybe you can run a line out of the live board at the next show that you play into some sort of portable recorder. There are many available that are cheap. Or better yet, maybe run something out into recording software on a laptop?

Does your video camera have an audio input? You may be able to run a stereo pair from the board into the camera and use that for sound, which would be the ideal thing really.

Or if you want more of a room sound, get a separate microphone and preamp (like a little Mackie 4-channel mixer has) and set it up on a boom stand near the video camera.

You really just need to work around the fact that the camera mic kind of sucks in high-volume situations. What kind of camera is it?

As well it should. I love mine. There's a little web site out there that tells how to use the rechargeable batteries from radio controlled cars (available through Radio Shack) to get lots of recording time and without plugging in. I did it and it works great.

I don't want my laptop in a bar. The Zoom gets good quality recordings, it's smaller and lighter (and cheaper) than most other options and it's simple. You don't need any higher quality for those kinds of gigs - there's lots of background noise and for putting MP3's on MySpace, the playback systems are the weak link not the recorder.

Here's a good site for using the H2 (and H4).

I don't know the details on the camera. I had not seen the footage until it was on the site.

A quick note, there are a couple of instances where it seems I drop out. It turns out it is an edit from where someone stood in front of the camera.
