Looking for a rehearsal space...

...have checked all over, but I'm not finding any. I live in an apartment, and right now finances preclude me from getting a house on my own.

I'd love to hear ideas/solutions where you found to rehearse at...right now we're travelling 45 minutes to a halfa** drummers place just to have a place to play...if it weren't for his space, I'd have found a new drummer a long time ago.

There are no rehearsal spots in your town? Usually there are a few lockouts in each city. Check out recording studios, alot of them offer rehearsal time.

if you can get by on minimal power, and you're clean cut, look inot renting a large storage locker. couple hundred a month should get you something as big as a car width and 1.5 length.

Solution:

Buy or rent a roland drum kit, get a cheap mixing board (like the behringer ub1202). Plug in one of those headphone adapters that let you plug in five sets (or whatever). Everybody puts on headphones and plays thru the mixing board. The loudest thing going will be the singing. So if your'e a screamer it wont work. Otherwise, once the initial gear is paid for, you can play "low volume" at your place (no travelling) for free.

I've heard it been done more than a couple times.

Any local high schools or colleges in the area? Sometimes places like that have space available to use for bands.
