Modern Covers for a TRIO? I am putting a new band together and we want to do a mix of classic and modern hits. The classic stuff is easy to come up with but I am not overly familiar with dancy modern stuff. Here are a few I came up with: Billie Jean - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kBNIL_CPcw Bruno Mars' "Locked Out of Heaven" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-fA-gBCkj0 MOVES LIKE JAGGER - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...type=3&theater SINCE YOUVE BEEN GONE - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBdjlz8je94 One - U2 Seven Nation Army Bad Romance - https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...type=3&theater Any other ideas for modern 3 piece covers? |
What kind of vocalist do you have? It'd be helpful to have an idea of their range and timbre. |
He has a John Mayer vibe, but he's open to most styles. |
I would like my 3 piece band to learn Gold On The Ceiling by The Black Keys |
This thread made me realize that most of the modern stuff I've done which has gone over the best either requires a female singer or a guy who knows Spanish, Portuguese and/or Korean, but definitely do some Sean Paul. I'd start with "Temperature" or "Get Busy". |
Sean Paul has terrible grammar. :D |
LOL, yeah, and it does make his lyrics kinda hard to memorize. But it's still easier than "Gangnam Style" or "Danza Kuduro"! |
We are a three piece with a singer, we do Super Massive Black Hole by Muse, seems to go over well. We also do Harder to Breath by Maroon 5. I think you could do just about anything if you can make up fewer instruments with all three singing. |
Forget you. Sunday morning. Mooves like jagger. Bad romance. Love game. Just dance. |
sex on fire is still working pretty well for us also that Fun song, we are young, but we have a sequence we use for the piano and whatnot. |
We recently added: Locked out of Heaven - Bruno Mars Lonely Boy - Black Keys Gloom and Doom - Stones They all keep people dancing and/or singing along. |
Definitely Black Keys. |
