I found a deal on a Yamaha O1V mixer, with ADAT card, for $315 shipped. From a studio musician/composer, never left his apartment. (It was a moving sale for quick cash.) KILLER deal; they go on ebay for over $500. It's in transit right now.

I'm really looking forward to getting this thing figured out and getting rid of some of my rackmounted gear. Having comps/gates/etc. on every channel and different effects available for each should keep me busy for a while.

Hopefully it will take me a while before I outgrow it and need to go with a newer one.

Although we run sound from stage, we rarely touch it once we get it set, and if we do it's just some simple fader adjustments. Just about all of our sound issues that have cropped up were because of bumped compressor knobs, EQ sliders, etc. So locking them into a menu and being able to save the presets will be a dream as well. I'm hoping, anyways!

Nice score! I'd love to get my jazz group into one of those, but PV columns and a cheap powered head is their idea of adequate sound reinforcement...ughhh.

the 01V rocks

Congrats~! Great little desk, GREAT price too! I have two of the older "01v" mixers, and one of the newer "01v96" mixers. use them all the time. You'll love it once you get used to it.
