Exclamation Need a New Band Name

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, my guitarist just called it quits so my drummer and I are looking for two new guitarists and a lead vocalist.

But we need a new name.

Please suggest one, the more outlandish or hysterical, the better.

I dunno...that probably wouldn't work out to well, they might get ridiculed too much by The Who fans who think they would be trying to rip The Who off by adding an "m" to the end of "Who". Just my .02 on dat one ~ Ty

That is not EXACTLY right either... but closer.

The reference comes from a state legislature that had a bill introduced about 10/15 years ago to legislate that Pi should be defined as three.

I won't SWEAR to it, but I believe this idiocy transpired in the great State of
Texas, where science is commonly ignored by the legislature.

I don't think that was done here. I always heard it as an east coast thing like, maybe North Carolina. But something that the Texas legislature DID do back in the late '70's was to vote in favor of a commendation for Albert DeSalvo (sp?) for his efforts in the realm of population control.

Apparently no one checked to see that the person they were commending was, actually an accused mass-murderer.

Oh yeah. Moments like that make SO proud to be a Texan.

Well, everyone normally uses 3.14 for short, but in my programming class last year our teacher taught us to use 3.14159 since it was closer to the real thing.

Some friends of mine in high school, oh so many years ago, had a band, now defunct, called "Glory Hole". Mostly because nobody in our area, New Hampshire knew what it meant.

I won't explain it. If you want to know what it means, do a search yourself. It's a pretty strange thing.

I retract that allegation against the great Lone Star State. I was mistaken.

It was Indiana.

Here's the Straight Dope.

I guess the Texas Legislature hadn't thought of it yet!

I understand they can be a bit ROUGH on Biology textbooks down there ....

Well then I should apologize to North Carolina. But I still think having my elected officials commend the Boston Strangler for his efforts in population control is pretty funny.
