Need some good vibes
Hey TB diaspora
So after a bit of a hiatus I'm back in the build a band thing, sorta like Build a Bear in the mall but different....LoL. I already have a couple of positions locked in and now it's off to C/list for the final two.
Off to C/list.... OFF TO C/LIST?????????................:help:
The mind boggles
I'll pass you some good vibes, Heff. I have met many good musicians through Craigslist. I've had better luck there than at open mic's. I know people consider it a wasteland of non-talents and flakes, but that is true in many other "traditional" places to locate musicians as well.
Take your time and be cautious, and you may well uncover a few gems. At least with a Craigslist ad, you know the people who respond are interested in what you have to offer. Its one of those "nothing ventured, nothing gained" kind of things.
Matter of fact, my current band was almost completely formed through Craigslist. The only person I didn't originally meet through Craigslist was my guitarist, and he knew of me through a fellow I played with previously, and THEY met through Craigslist.
Also put flyers up at music stores, college campus near music dept. etc. Good luck and have fun.
Twenty years ago I got one great guitarist and best friend out of the Clown File...he's why I'm here on Maui now. That's my only success story. He beat out "Squeezebox Eddie" who claimed to be the best and finest accordion player around, and no amount of telling him that my ad was for a rock guitarist was gonna dissuade him.
Oh Squeezebox when are you ever gonna learn?
