Agreed. That is the epitome of lame. Ed showed up ready to play. The only reason not to pay him is... hell, I can't think of one. Reminds of the good old days when a band would come up short on money and ask a sub to take a pay cut to help pay for their van.

Sounds like this "band" has some pretty glaring limits. The guitar player's amp problem and his handling of it was far from adult. Not playing a gig because he lost a channel is incredible.

Makes for a great anecdote though

"You think that's bad? Last weekend I had this gig..."

No kidding dude, are we ok ? I'll pay you, if need be. My credibility with you guys is way more impotant to me than what my bandmates think. The handwritting is on the wall for me, I'm outta there, just not sure when and how I'm going to do it. So, I really don't care if I piss them off. I have reheasal tomorrow night, I'm curious to see what is said to me about saturday. If there is anything other than, "I'm so sorry for screwing with your friend" said, you'll see a big mushroom shaped cloud over Beechwood. I've been gigging for too long on the Jersey Shore, to have some a-hole ruin my reputation.

Not to worry Don, everything is absolutely okay ..... PM sent your way. And keep your cash, maybe we'll grab James one of these days and go tip a few ...

Just try to keep your cool with your band mates, not worth really burning the bridges, especially after a year long committment .......

I just want to say that's a handsome offer of buzzbass to pay, and equally gentlemanly of Ed to turn it down.

I'm with Brad. I do a lot of subs, and if I showed up, and the show was canceled for any reason, I would be looking to the venue or the band to be paying me.
