Until the MySpace roller coaster comes to a halt a web page is almost a non point for an original band.

We do have our own website at treasurejunkieband.com; we're just trying to decide if it's worth it to have our-band-name.com... that is, treasurejunkie.com

I would *love* to have booking@treasurejunkie.com as our email address, but that's not worth $1,000.

Since you already own the treasurejunkies.com, .net, .org, you might want to consider adding the s to your band name and save the $1000.

We thought about that when we decided on Treasure Junkie, but we didn't like it as much.

Imagine saying this with a lisp: "Hey guys, we're The Treasure Junkies! We're here to entertain you, so grab your dancing pardner and skip-to-my-lou!" lol

I think we will just stick with treasure junkie and treasurejunkieband.com as the website.

We've done some informal polling and it seems that most people go to a search engine to look for pretty much anything, rather that going straight for the URL. So, I think it doesn't matter much, anyway. As long as our website and MySpace come up #1 and #2, I'm not worried.

The only reason I'd really love the actual domain name is for the email addresses, but I think it will be okay. What do you guys think?

Definitely don't do this...there's quite a few people out there on the webz, trying to make money off people in situations like yourself. Don't encourage the behaviour...

And who cares about what your email address looks like? If they like your music and you're selling tickets they'll send you an email to booking@bozotheclownband.com...

Save the money for your tour and album.

A Whois search shows that the treasurejunkie.com ip expires next july!

Keep you fingers crossed that you can get in on it before the squatter does! Sometimes, people forget to re-register, and it'll be up for grabs.

Before we got management we had booking at "knockoutbooking AT yahoo DOT com"

We talked to plenty of professionals there and it wasn't the slightest of problems. In fact, promoters from many of the "staple" clubs in America just use their regular e-mail for bookings.

Oh, we are well aware! We have a backorder agent contract with GoDadddy to nab it for us in case she fails to renew in time. Since she is starting her own business with the same name, that's extremely unlikely, but worth the $19 it cost us for the slim chance, at least.

Don't pay it. Anything over 200 hundred dollars is a "move on" moment.

Like someone said earlier, most people click links or they google. They will find you either way.
