Hey,
so I tried out today for a band and they said I was in. Was so excited because they were absolutely stunning musicians. There is only one issue, and it's literally the only one. I live an hour and a half away, which works out to three hours for a couple hours of practice. Is it worth three hours driving for a band?

Play with them a couple more times, and if you find yourself resenting the time you spent on the road, then I'd say it's not worth it. I've found myself traveling two and a half hours just to jam with my old band for a couple of hours. |

If the band is as good as you say, certainly a very rare thing, something to think about. As long as you think its worth it, it is. Only you know how much free time you are willing to spend on it, and how good the band has to be to make any given distance worth driving to be with them.
There are probably bands worth that drive, and there are bands that aren't worth the trip to practice if they're practicing at your house.

You can always make something more out of your drives; find some great spots to eat or cool shops in their town or along the way.

And if its all that - move town...

If the band was really good I would give it a shot. Maybe a suggestion you could run by them would be to have a longer practice so you can get more "bang for your buck". |

But, I would say it is well worth it as long as your comfortable in that situation and you can financially pull it off.

It would be too far for me, but then currently I have to walk across the street for my practices. |

| | | | They get together about once a week. Adds about sixty bucks on to my weekly bills (including meals and whatnot) and therefore it's gonna be rough (in college) but I'm gonna try and pull it of I believe.
