A new beginning

Well, after 18 months of playing the weekly Church gig, I quit today. This decision has come after several months of discernment and prayer.
Unfortunately, my ability to worship was eclipsed by the frustration of poor leadership and the group's dynamic shifting towards a performance.

So, Easter is a time of new beginnings. With that, I choose to be a child of God first, and bassist thereafter. I am forcing myself to avoid playing until after I am regrounded spiritually.

Although it's amazing how God works in advance of our decisions. In the last 2 weeks, I have been asked to join two different church praise bands. The future looks bright! Amen!

If you are so inclined, I could use some prayers from those who understand my situation.

Wow, sounds great. I share a spot as a bassist with my original bass teacher and he usually gives me the spot first before himself. This last month The Lord felt it fit to take me out for a month after playing straight services for so long I can't remember when I didn't play. I wish I had more chances to serve my church musically but that comes in time no? Good luck and God Bless, sounds like you have some awesome options in the future.
