I just finished the new Rickey Minor book "There's No Traffic on the Extra Mile." I was very impressed.
This is not just a must read for any bassist or other working musician, but applies to anyone in business as well. It's less than 200 pages and an easy read, but is full of great advice for real world scenarios that apply to anyone in the music business and beyond. Besides reviewing his personal history, some of the main themes deal with attitude, self-respect, being prepared and how to effectively work with others.
This book has some real meat and value. I found a 30% discount coupon online for Borders which put the price below $18. Even if you can't find it on sale, the $25 price is well worth it.
I absolutely recommend this book for anyone. |
