Not sure how to address this...

I am a bit of confused here. As I am rather fresh player, I have decided that finding a band would speed up my learning, as now, i can barely force myself to do excersizes/study theory.

Well, after few auditions that didn't go so well I got called to play with this hard rock cover band, which only lacked bass. Singer, who is leader ask to learn a song, which i prepared pretty well.

Audition day came, and i rushed there with enthusiasm, however it went very "meh"... Drummer late by 20min. Rehearsal room, which singer "booked" was not actually booked and we had to wait for 40min. till other band let us in. Singer forgot words so she couldn't sing...even tho she picked up that song. However, worst thing - guitarist is a kid. Literally, a kid. He is 13 when all the rest are in early 20ies. I would not mind that, if he was good. He is not.

However, on a positive note, drummer was awesome. Best one i had a chance to play till now. Singers voice isn't bad either.

Next day I got phone call from them, and to make it short: They asked to give them another shot as they wanted me to play with them. Well, we are doing it at Monday, and if it goes at least a bit better I want to stay.

But there is one problem: I want guitarist to leave. I don't feel comfortable playing with a kid, especially as i already foresee problems that will appear in future due to his age. And lets be honest, i don't mind having a beer during play time.
I got completely no idea how to approach this issue, as I got no experience in this "band thing"...Any tips guys?

Do you plan on gigging? If your answers yes then it might definitely be a very bad thing.

If you're just playing for fun and the experience, and there aren't a lot of other options around, I say go for it. They're not an ideal crew but then it sounds like you're not too experienced yet yourself. Have fun with them until something better comes along.

I don't know what the laws are in Lithuania, but I assume the 13-year-old is not going to be able to play in any bars, so if you're going to gig, that's a problem - especially if he isn't any good. But then, that young, he may learn fast if he's motivated.

If you just want to play with some guys and learn some cover songs, ok, no harm in going back.

If you ever plan on performing for people, or your friends, this sounds like it has a very low chance of success. Better to keep looking for another band, in my opinion.
