This just happened today. It amused me, so I thought I'd post.
For the record, our band had been looking for a singer...we have someone auditioning for a second time tomorrow afternoon. I had posted on several message boards that we had been looking for a vocalist.
E-mail I got today: E-mail me a list of your covers please.I'm in the Tomah area but will travel for a serious band that enjoys playing and having fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, I've been a front man for 21 years and I've been told I STILL HAVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm originally from MILW and moved about 6 years ago, Been looking since the move. not much talent up here.
Thanks,
Singer Guy
FWIW, Tomah is more than TWO HOURS from my city, where we practice. So this guy is talking about driving four hours round trip to rehearse with a cover band!
I replied: Hi Singer Guy. Thanks for the e-mail. Unfortunately, we've found a singer for the time being. Good luck with finding a band. I've heard it can be tough to find people to jam with in northern parts of the state, for whatever reason.
Thanks,
Invader
His response: k
That's it! A single, one letter reply in an e-mail. No "Thanks for letting me know", or anything. What was the point of e-mailing me back if that's all he felt like typing? I just couldn't help but laugh at this.
