Our big cover song is "Won't Get Fooled Again" by The Who. I don't know how off the wall it is but so far we are the only band in the St. Louis area we know that does it. All of our fans say the same thing and fans go NUTS for that song. It is usually our last song then we do an encore (which is an original) after that. Only once have we done this song and not done an encore. The first time we did it we got such a reaction from everyone and on the video tape we could hear a guy saying "HOLY S&^* THEIR PLAYING THE WHO!" It's to the point now if we don't play it people are disapointed. I think we do well on it but the highlight is definately the breakdown at the end and while the keyboard player is doing the solo thing the guitar player and I turn the amps way up. So after the scream its just a huge wall of sound hitting you. It always gives me goose bumps anyway. Thats usually the only cover we do in a night.

I just witnessed a band at the local roadhouse that played the theme to "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" on request... of course, that was after another band set up a projector and showed "Dr. Strangelove" for the entire duration of their set. Interesting night.

I was in a band that did all original hard rock. But we regularly played "Take a Chance on Me" by ABBA. It brought the house down.

I have some friends in a hardcore punk band that plays "No Matter What" by Badfinger. Same reaction
