Okay, TBers... I need band-name help!—Edit: Update on Page 6

Edit: Update... We settled on "Nick and The Fireflies" - Thanks for your help!

------------

Hey guys!

I'm playing with a new group and we need a name. We're having a hell of a time coming up with something, and I thought I'd turn to my TB brethren to see what you guys can come up with.

This pianist/singer & drummer duo have put together some songs are started playing, and recently added me as a sideman on bass and occasional guitar. We played one gig together about a week ago, just to try out some of the songs in front of an audience and get some stage time together, and it went well enough that we decided to make this a more-permanent line-up. So, we need a name, and once we have that, we'll start building our mailing list, a website, etc.

The sound is Elton John, Billy Joel, some indie influence, some Fiona Apple/Jon Brion influence, some heavier sounds. Not really any blues in this one. The guys made a temporary MySpace (from before they added me) at http://www.myspace.com/nickandjustinrock and it now has some recordings and YouTube vids so you can hear it yourself, if you're so inclined!

Our singer's name is Nick Spina and the drummer's is Justin Fremont, if you want to use anything from that. We've thrown around "Spina Fremont," "Spiniac," etc, but nothing's stuck yet.

Open to just about anything at this point. Our main priorities, I think, are that it's easy to say/spell/remember/pronounce, would rank well on Google after registering _____.com (or _____band.com), and obviously, that it fits our genre/image/sound.

I do own the website "DarwinStrikesAgain.com" and thought it would be quite funny, but my bandmates want to keep looking I also suggested Single Coils (I also own singlecoils.com), which might work, but I'm definitely open to ideas and the guys are too.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions! Let me know what you think.

- Mama Dave

There's a band from Denver called The Turnaround, so probably not... Thanks, though! Strangely, although they have theturnaroundband.com, they DON'T have turnaroundband.com (turnaround.com is an HR company)... Hmm...

Yeah, I play a little bass too. I could tell what you were doing there. You were playing some major and minor scales. I was watching your hands.

Ya know what? Your right, the more I say it the more I like it.
+1 for Spinfrecato

But saying it repeatedly makes me hungry.

The Turd Burglars (always wanted to use that for my band).

The Donner Party (historical significance but also death-metalesque as it implies you eat your dead).

If you wait a while, I'm sure I can come up with something stupid.
