Band names are easy these days. They don't even need to make any sense. Sometimes the weirder the better.

It's what you make of the name.
What the heck is a Pink Floyd anyway?
Name the band after a bug like oh, The Beatles.

Anything works even...The Chakahs

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you (drum roll please):

"The Shoulder Pads"
or
"Hairdo's from Hell"

FYI, Pink Floyd was named by combining the names of two bluesmen that Roger Waters and Syd Barrett liked, as teeneagers. It's not random.

For the band name, maybe find a song title and work off that. Or look for an interesting phrase in the lyrics, and use that.

Wow, and I thought I had a pretty neat screenname. I guess I'll have to cook up another one, seeing as how I'm not a supporter of Adolf.

My former band was Chaka MAD - a name we came up with literally seconds before we had to play an open mic night.

Since the 80's were the "me decade". How about "Me & Those Other Guys".

The first name I thought that would be funny for the 80's was "In Excess".

The more I think about it, the more I realize how good a band name "INXS" was.
