One man band?

I finally found some guys to play with but they are very busy and rarely show up (they have little kids). The drummer doesn't seem to be into playing live someday.

I know of a club my friend plays at that would let me play but I'm not sure how to piece all my stuff into something entertaining.

I can't sing
I can't program drum machines
I'm afraid of sounding loopish or bore people.

any advice would be great

Take heart, dear boy: I have little 'uns, the rest of my 4-piece don't, and they're too busy!

London (ONT)? seems to be buzzing with activity...lots of ads for musicians. I'm patient but I would like to still do a solo thing for fun.

I’m not sure how I’d do a solo show.
You could go very retro and do a beatnik poetry thing.
Bass and kazoo maybe? Ok I wouldn’t want to watch those either.

There’s probably more you could do playing multi-string without having to sing or need a drum machine.

May be try to find some one who will do a duo with you.

As for no time, I used to bring my daughter and son (5 and 1 at the time) to practice with me. The other members didn’t mind.
Suggest scheduling practice so the members with kids can have them there. If a bunch of kids running around, singing along or what ever distracts the band, you’re not going to make it through your first club/bar gig.
