So, being disappointed with my lack of success in real bands, I've decided to start my own one man e-grind band. the problem really comes down to not how much time i'm willing to invest in this (because that isn't really the bad part), just how much I actually need is the question. So far let me just list stuff I have:
$H!TTY keyboard
Alesis Sr-16 drum machine
Rhythm Rascal Drum machine program
Fruity Loops studio 7 (which i somehow obtained)
Audacity

This all seems like a pretty good list of stuff i have, but www.drummachinemusic.com leads me to believe I'm missing alot.

A list of my influences I have basically goes: wesley willis, Xrin arms (www.myspace.com/xrinarmsmother****er), Ganglia (http://www.iamfrantic.com/ganglia/), The Electrocutionerdz (http://www.myspace.com/electrocutionerdz), and A Beautiful Lotus (www.myspace.com/abeautifullotus).

Any of you Tech Saavy guys/girls got any information to help me?

It doesn't take a lot of gear to make one-man grind. Start recording a song... it'll become obvious quickly if you're missing something. If you get the song finished then congratulations, you're not missing anything.

Some things are obviously missing from your list - microphone, computer and a sound card or some other kind of interface between the two. You might want to make sure those are decent though for grind they really only need to be reasonably reliable. I'm guessing you have them, just didn't mention them.

For example I do all my mixing using nothing but a cheap pair of PC speakers which I got for free from a guy who paid about $7 for them. I could buy some decent monitors but would that make my job easier or the results "better"? Nah.

well, for the computer and sound card part.....my stock Tobisha sound card a lot of vst and wave instruments work, anything that's pure midi tho I can't hear playing.....eh, i have essential sounds, the distorted guitar (the "common" fruity loops simulated sound, not the measly old midi distorted guitar), some variation of drums, basses, etc. i still gotta figure out how to stack up samples and whatnot with fl studio so i basically spent all day downloading tutorial videos and the "bible" to get an idea from past versions how the current one works

I find it to be easier, and an electronic musician may disagree, to stack and layer in a real DAW like audacity. Maybe cuz Im an audio guy instead of a computer guy, but I always make loops in fruity loops, basically print the loop, then throw it in a DAW. The FX processors in DAW's I find to be better than whats in fruity loops. You may try using a program called Reaper instead of audacity becuase you can use VST's in it unlike audacity which I dont beleive supports VST.

Also check out Ableton Live, it's a good tool for layering tracks and twisting them into all kinds of glitchy grind.

Experiment with speeding up and slowing down your tracks, and then layering new tracks on those.
