In one week, we lost our lead guitarist AND our drummer

Totally independent circumstances, too.

Our lead guitarist has been a drama queen from day one. Dude was ALWAYS trying to kick everyone else out of the band, nobody was ever good enough for him. He finally got into a big argument with our other guitarist, and finally decided to quit. I'm actually glad this happened, because he was almost never open to playing anyone else's riffs. Unless you consider the riffs he stole from other bands. Or

Then our drummer decides to get flakey on us. He's been playing with an emo band on the side for extra cash/exposure. Well, then he fell off the face of the planet for over a week, not responding to any kind of communication attempts. In that same time period, we see his emo band now has him as their permanent drummer. That's fine, but it would have been nice to have been told he was leaving. He actually TXT'd me to apologize today, but he's still out of the band.

There are TONS of back stories behind both of these guys, like how our guitarist was always getting in retarded fights and almost cost us several gigs, and how we'd stood behind our drummer for close to a year while he battled numerous illnesses. In a nutshell, we're probably better off without both guys.

I just hate having to find new members. I hate the down time. I think we already have the guitarist replaced....but it's going to be a real nightmare trying to find a metal drummer.

Sorry about airing all this dirty laundry...I just needed to vent somewhere!

That is rough brother, good luck finding another drummer you can not only lock up with, but get along with,,, perhaps Craigs list???

That's just careless.

At the end of the gig, when you think you've packed everything up, have a final check round the place to make sure you've not left anything behind. Stops stuff like this happening.

If you're better off without them now, you would have been better off without them a long time ago. One problem band member is too many, two is not worth it.
