Hey there, don't know if this has been addressed before, but figured I'd post and see if it would help anyone.

I'm playing with an original project that's just finishing up their tunes. We're starting to record so we can book some shows, and in the meantime we've been looking at open jams & open mikes as a way to get some stage legs underneath us and tweak the songs and set if necessary based on crowd reaction, etc. So far it's worked well (ex: some tunes were way too long once we put them in front of a crowd) and has allowed us to be able get some experience as a group without worrying about shanks on a "real" gig.

I came across this site: Open Mikes

I'm not in any way affiliated with this site, just passing info along. Some stuff may be outdated, but at least locally for me, it's pretty accurate. Hope it helps.
