So me and some friends are in a high school band. We're generally a hard rock/grunge band, and just started jamming this summer. Now we have been looking for a name for some time, and our guitarist came up with "Breaking Silence".
Now at first I liked the name, but the more I hear it and think about it the sillier I think it sounds.
What do you think of the name?
this might be a stupid topic but this has been bugging me :/ |

| | | | don't worry too much about it! A band name is constantly changing, Almost as much as you're opinion of it will change. Until you play a show with the name, be careful not to judge too hard.
At this early stage in a band's life, Every member should be open to suggestions. It's not like the name is a life long commitment.
you gotta start somewhere though, so don't get too caught up on it! |

but its a hell of alot better than 'Reacharound'!

Google "breaking silence band" and you'll see there's bands called Breaking Silence, Break the Silence, Breaking the Silence, etc. etc. |

It's got a nice ring to it, but simply not creative enough. For some reason whenever I try to think of names that are "cool" I end up coming with something like that, just another cliche name. Keep on thinking! |

a good name won't make a bad band better. A bad name won't hold back a good band.
But you definitely want something unique. Catchy.
