Opinions, Please

These videos are from a recent gig we played at Toad's in New Haven. Allowing for the vagaries of the recording device (onboard mic in a hand-held digital camera), I'd like opinions about:

1. Instrumental balance

2. Groove/Tempo stability

3. General Observations

Thanks everybody, in advance. I appreciate having the input of the intelligent and objective group of musicians which populate this site.

Well my opinion ain't worth much, but since you asked I'll give it. Overall you all sound pretty good but I'll answer your three topics:

1. I think you could stand more high freq in your sound, as in turn up the lead guitar (only if he stays off the low strings), or maybe get a female singer. As much as I like bass, the band overall sounds a little woofy (could be the song, the camera mic, or the video). But in general, the overall sound has a low-frequency quality to my ears.

2. Y'all sound pretty tight, I think the groove/tempo is good. Your drummer sounds nice. Bass player is way better than me (that ain't saying much, but he's got some chops). Is this you? The frontman played bass on at least one song...

3. Man I'm hearing a lot of feedback, but you know that right? Your frontman may be moving away from his mic too much, allowing bleed. I think that would be the #1 priority right now, IMO any other areas for improvement would come after that.

What do I know? This is all just IMHO. But if I was the one askin' for opinions, I'd take it...

[...still listening... FIX THE FEEDBACK! ]

Hope this helps.
