My band, Laden Swallow, just hired a new drummer after three months of using sit-ins. This lets me get back to booking shows. We're pretty much maxed-out in our local nook of Northern California, so I'm looking for shows in Pacific Northwest region. Problem is, we're really not much of a bar band and are much more suited to playing all ages venues. Our new drummer is also only 18, so that makes bars/21+ places kinda rough.
I've tried searching online a bit, but haven't really been able to find much. If anyone knows any decent all ages clubs/venues in Oregon/Washington and how to get booked there, I'd be eternally grateful.
BTW, our style is alt-rock.
Thanks. |

I'd google El Corazon and Studio 7 - They seem to have the most all-ages shows in Seattle. |

They used to have their own venue, and were fundraising for a new one, not sure if they got it yet.
In addition to the above mentioned clubs The Crocodile Cafe has been known to book special all ages shows...rarely.
I would avoid Studio Seven, they have some questionable booking policies. (like "requiring" that you pre-sell 40 tickets ...gee who pays if you don't sell all 40 tickets...?) |

| | | The Skylark Cafe and Club is a small club in West Seattle that looks to me like they support your type of music, they do all ages shows on Sundays, they allow performers who are under age to play on 21+ nights (thurs - sat) as long as they are on stage playing, and they do direct booking. There is a booking link and all the info you could need at their web site: http://www.skylarkcafe.com/
Not a big club - but it's something.
My band is about ready to start playing out and we might go play here - if you do first let me know how it goes. |

Guitars still on stands and drums to be broken down. Gear tends to wind up missing at this point. This forces the bands to load up right away and being in a so so neighborhood where cars do get broken into the band has to take the gear home. Lots of bands seem to think that this is ok but what about the people that came out to see you? The band loaded up and left. No chance to hang out with the band after they played. So what happens? They leave, with no chance for the bar to sell more drinks. Very poorly run place in my opinion.
