We just scored a dream gig that's going to require us to learn country party songs - looking for help constructing a list --- having challenges with new country as there are no real sing along rowdy party songs
All advice appreciated

But if you play those, it's gonna be the party for sure!
Friend in low places' Garth Brooks (with the hidden verse)
Sold (John Michael Montgomery)
Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy (Big and Rich)

We also do the Big and Rich song Save a Horse great response to that as well. So those are two of the ones mentioned. We provide music in between sets and one of the songs that gets people on the dance floor without fail is Luke Bryans Country Girl (Shake it for Me). That goes over so well we will be working it up for the set list after we are done with the current group of songs we have in process. It'll really come down to me being able to sing and play the bassline at the same time, but that shouldn't be too bad cause most of the fun stuff is going on when he is not singing.

THIS is what WE DO!
Here's one setlist, or most of one for you (actually, part of one of ours);
Play Something Country- Brooks And Dunn
Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy)- Big-N-Rich
You Never Even Called Me By My Name- David Allen Coe
Drink In My Hand- Eric Church
Friends In Low Places- Garth Brooks
Crazy Town- Jason Aldean
Elvira- The Oak Ridge Boys (Cheesy, fun, gets a ton of laughs if you do it right)
Ring Of Fire- Johnny Cash (Again, speed it up and add some overdrive, check out Social Distortion's cover of it)
I Don't Want This Night To End- Luke Bryan Band
Fast As You- Dwight Yoakam
Guitars and Cadillacs- Dwight Yoakam
Good luck! Tons of good tunes out there for a Country gig.

also consider "Uneasy Rider" and the old standard "The devil went down to Georgia". |
