Passive Aggressive Guitar Player

How many of you have had to deal with a passive aggressive guitar player who acted like the band was a democracy until things didn't go his way? Our band decided on a new drummer we all liked except for one of two guitar players. When we outvoted him on the new drummer, all of sudden he says he's backing out. I think he figured we'd can the new drummer so he would stay. WRONGO!!!!! We called his bluff and all picked up our equipment from his house (our rehearsal space). Looking back over the last 8 months he's chased out three drummers, a guitarist/keyboardist, and another guitar player with these shenanigans. Until he learns to compromise, he's gonna be pretty lonely playing solo in his basement. The kicker? He was replaced within 12 hours.

Bottom line...people like that are a waste of your time. They will just hold your band back from being productive and creative. I can speak from personally dealing with a singer who was a complete pain in the ass. Trust me, finding a new singer is really, really hard. You guys made the complete right decision. Good job!

sounds to me like said guitarist has his own vision of what he wants
in a band, and will fair better (as will you) with said split.

Eh, guitarists are a dime a dozen. Exhibit A: the fellow was reaplced in half a day. Good drummers are rare. You made a good trade.
