Playing an Arena is FUN.

Man oh man, I just had a wish fulfillment weekend folks...I've always wondered what it would be like to play an arena, and, well, I was fortunate enough to do just that, for two nights, this past weekend...

See, I'm in a new country-pop band called "Glenn Stewart & South Station", and after having just returned this week from playing the Country Music Marathon in Nashville, we did a double header supporting the Professional Bullriders Association tour in Manchester, NH. on Friday & Saturday night at the Verizon Wireless Arena. It was pretty surreal to walk into the arena and see the stage and then the tiers of seats (it's usually the other way around, yes?) and then to soundcheck...and then to play to a few thousand people...pretty awesome and rewarding experience I'll not soon forget....people were appreciative, we sounded good, and everything was just great.

I just wanted to share...I'm still just giddy about the whole thing.

Wow... that's really cool. Did you flash the obligatory devil's sign?

We're going to be opening for Tower Of Power pretty soon - not exactly a stadium gig but it's going to be pretty big nonetheless. I imagine that will be a similar experience.

Congratulations! Big shows are crazy! Nice sounds and songs on the myspace, too (and I am not a country music fan).

Hey! Thanks guys! I'm working on some pics (I saw previews, some look awesome) and as for the bass tone on "believer", that is a Spector 5 with twin EMG humbuckers. v:O) Glenn did tha tracks before I joined (he's been a bassist from waaaaay back when I knew him from high school... natty tone, huh? grindy! He did all the drum tracks too!!!)

It really was a neat experience, and I hope all my bass brothers and sisters get to do that some day. Truly fun.

Congrats dude. That's definately on my list of lifetime to-do's. And glad to hear that none of the bulls decided to charge the stage. Could've been messy.

Congrats man....My band is still playing small gigs, but the coolest show we did was to open for Pete Best and his band at a local venue, they needed an opener and we volunteered just for the chance. We got to meet Pete, get things signed, and hang out with the band. Not to mention shock a lot of people who saw a bunch of hs/college kids get on stage before a night of Beatles songs..and play something they enjoyed...(classic rock covers and one original)...the people my parents sat with nearly sh*t themselved when they found out none of us were 20 yet...it was a great night and experience

That would be really cool to play at. I listened to the Glenn Stewart songs and it's interesting, because it's exactly what sound we're going for right now with my band. Not originals (yet), but we're doing Rascal Flatts, Big & Rich, etc.

I think at least one of us will buy his CD and we'll probably cover one of the songs so I may be hitting you up for some notes help!

Awesome! Congrats! I haven't played an arena (yet) but I got to do an opening set at Indian Ranch in Webster, MA for Gary Allan, which is the closest I've gotten. Pro sound, but we got the shaft on the monitors, only three mixes, center stage and stage left and right.
