Problem: I want to be in a band, but when i want to start asking people, i dont......

I wanna be in a band and start asking people to start some **** with me soon, but i don't know what to tell them what my musical genre would be. i wanna be something like Rage (audioslave), primus, mudvayne, tool, system of a down... Help!

How about putting this in your ad:

Influences: Rage (audioslave), primus, mudvayne, tool, system of a down

Or when someone asks you "What genre band are you starting?" Say "Something along the lines of Rage (audioslave), primus, mudvayne, tool, and system of a down."

I don't know what "genre" that is, so just say it's rock, or heavy, or something even more vague. You could even make up a genre, you could call it post-modern modernism.

I wouldn't just say it's 'rock'. That's really far too vague. They could think you're talking about Queen, The Beatles, and the like - which come under 'Rock' but really aren't at all the same as what you're talking about. Say it's metal or something.
