Question about MySpace

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm a total beginner at MySpace, I admit.

There's a place for "upcoming shows" and naturally we use that. But I also would like anyone who's looking at our page to see the venues we've played in the past as well, and I can't figure out how to do this. It looks good, especially to bar owners to see *all* the venues we've played, not just the upcoming ones.

I had to do something really cheezy and put the year "2010" on our gigs earlier than current so they would show up, even though they appear after our real upcoming shows.

Anybody know how to do this in a better way?

Myspace is just a tool

With a basic knowledge of HTML code, you can easily modify your page to show anything you want. Text is easy. You can type anything you want under profile and it will show up.

That'll work. You can also start a blog titled "Past Shows". You don't have to have a Myspace account to view blogs, so anyone wanting to see where else you've played can click there and view it, and you won't have to clutter up the main page with past dates.

myspace pages are really easy to modify. Check ours out. You can put almost anything you want on them.

www.myspace.com/highwaytohellinfo

I wouldn't put into a blog. Most visitors don't go into the blog.

do you have a regular web page as well? you could post a link to it showing past gigs.

but honestly you can easily create something fancy that isn't necessary "clutter" on the page.

Thanks - I think the blog idea is great, at least for the next few days until I learn how to do the other suggestions.

I noticed even your upcoming shows have past dates like Aug 16th ????

I did the blog, but it's not right there in your face without having to take action to see it, so I put it in the band's bio - that worked out pretty nicely - thanks guys - it'll work for now.

because we don't use the show function - our webmaster has created it manually. Though generally we like to keep it current (I know he had some personal issues this week)
