Personally? I'd pass if I came across a band with major control freak red flags like this one.

I thought it was fairly professional-looking. You certainly won't be forgetting the name of their band anytime soon. And with all the charts and notes, etc. it would be easy to jump in and sub for them.
He might want to review some of the lyric sheets though...

really? | Well, he said it. Not me.
But my reference was comparing the Dear Jon version to the one at the open mic. |

If this were Podunk, Idaho I may be less critical, but they're from LA, which is filled with Berklee professor-quality musicians who struggle to find gigs due to the competetion. I don't know why he'd fill his band with players who sound like hobbyists rather than real pro-quality players.
I'm also not a fan of the image. I'm all for a band looking good and having an image, especially considering the types of gigs they play, but their image doesn't look well put together. The matching blazers need better tailoring, the dudes need better haircuts, and the band just looks overall "sloppy." Plus none of the players put out a lot of real onstage charisma. Again, I'd be more forgiving in Podunk, but not in LA.
I hate be real critical of the dude's band, because that's not typically my M.O.; and I (and nobody I know) am not perfect either. But the website seems to puff up the project way more than what it is, so I don't really feel bad about pointing out all of those things.

| | | BTW, I went and found the band leader's personal website that advertises his other services, including photography, writing, web design, etc. I won't post the link because there is some NSFW/age inappropriate content.
The site was...umm, interesting. He comes across as a dude that has a little bit of talent in things, but nowhere near the level of talent that he thinks he has. I read some of his writing, and it came across as a really bad attempt to be Jack Kerouac or Hunter S. Thompson without the brilliance of either writer. I give the dude props for trying to do his thing. But from his photos and online persona, he seems to take himself a little too seriously.
Here's a video of him showing his vocals. Most of it's the Dear Jon stuff, but the studio music video at the beginning alone is worth clicking on the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOGHAhqKOBA
Here's a video showing his keyboard prowness. It's like David Draiman and Jon Lord merged into some eerily possessed organist. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS-h3MBR0mA

With that said, the F.U. videos are obviously from years ago. All musicians who have been around the block have some photos or videos of them wearing goofy time-period clothing and doing some goofy things on stage. Pictures exist of me wearing pleather pants on stage. But those videos that Dunmore is highlighting didn't age well at all. The first one from the vocal demo reel has a campy King Diamond feel to it; but the difference is that King Diamond has always been self-aware of his campiness. It looks like Dunmore is really taking himself seriously in that video. My point is, I understand wanting to highlight a decent studio recording and showing things you've done in the past, but this is 2013. That video is for promo purposes, and the first thing someone is going to see is this really cheesy video of a dude wearing a white medieval-looking shirt, vest, and leather pants, doing all kinds of cheesy and awkward poses. Sometimes you have to try and take an objective look at yourself and say, "I don't know if I want this to be people's first impression of what I do."
You would think that someone who was so anal about micromanaging his band with the Dear Jon "Operational Manual" would be equally as anal about the presentation of his personal image and brand.
