Recommend some covers in this genre -

Hey all - looking for cover tune advice. I am in a classic rock band currently, and we are looking to change up our set to things that move the crowd to the dance floor a little better. We always have had luck with the dreaded 'Mustang Sally', 'Funky Music White Boy' et al. But, I would like to see what success others have had with songs like Joe Banamassa's cover of A Man of Many Words. What would this genre be, Blues Funk?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOs1w_3Wois

Anyway, we also do things like 'I Feel Good', 'Shaky Ground' etc. and that does seem to be the type of sound we really excell at and the audience enjoys.
Two guitars, drums bass and vocals.

Thanks for any suggestions!
Gab

I'm not familliar with the song you referred to and I cant access the video at work.

But I wont let that stop me from making a few recommendations:
Tush- ZZ Top
Almost anything with a quick pace by Skynyrd. The appeal of Skynyrd never ceases to amaze me. A few months ago I was at a gig for a friend's former band. They played a couple of Skynyrd tunes and the place went NUTS! And I'm talking about a bunch of twentysomethings in a bar in suburban Connecticut.

Also
We're An American Band by Grand Funk
American Girl by Tom Petty
What I Like About You by the Romantics

Great - and yea, I am always amazed by the Skynyrd fascination, however I live in Okahoma and thought it standard issue - twenty somethings in Connecticut?

Yup- more than half the crowd was in their 20's that night and they LOVED the Skynyrd tunes. I know they did Gimme 3 Steps- I wish I knew which other ones they did.

And now in my modern country band we do Sweet Home Alabama and the crowd loves that one as well.
