We are part of a co-op that rents what amounts to little more than a garage for rehearsal space (commercial zone). The property is owned by the tenant in the forward building - where the bathroom is. Since there are several bands, someone had apparently been using the facilities and tripping the silent alarm in the forward building. False alarm = fees by the alarm co. There were so many occurrences, that the landlord cut off bathroom access. But is that even legal if we are being charged rent? They said they might provide a port-a-john, which would work, but I just want to check since we were not the offending band (so far as I know).
I've just floated the idea of separate codes for each band, then hit the offending band with the fee. So I'll see what comes of that. Last thing I want to do is piss off the landlord - they've been really good to us and actually picked up the tab on the alarm fees. I'm a reasonable guy and really just want to reach a solution that's amicable for all. I'd just hate the be the person who an hour beforehand, ate something that disagreed.

toilet facilities. But if he is renting the space for some type of occupancy he should supply a bathroom. With that said, probably the best solution is to rent a portable toilet and keep the law and building codes out of it as this will only piss everyone off.

So it doesn't matter if each band has its own entry code when someone forgets to enter the code, trips the alarm... well, then how do you know which band tripped the alarm and dole out the fee?
Anyway, good luck with sorting out your facilities.

I don't have a lot of requirements when it comes to a rehearsal space. A bathroom is definitely one of them. You guys should look for a new rehearsal spot. I would not be entering a code to use the bathroom.
I would think there has to be a better studio/ facility out there for your band to practice in.

You're supposed to deactivate it, then reactivate it when the band leaves at night. Prob was some were not deactivating it, thus tripping the alarm, or not reactivating it/locking the door when they leave. The security company then charges a fee for false alarms. Landlord has been eating those fees, doing everyone a favor, but it's become chronic. So RR access has been revoked due to some bands not following SOP. In short, everyone suffers due to the idiots. Just like in life.
