As some of you may have seen, I've recently joined a fairly authentic Judas Priest Tribute band. Everything with the gig is going great and we're starting to book shows. Here's my problem. I'm 5-10, 240 lbs @ 10% bodyfat, I look like a shorter version of Goldberg, the wrestler. Where the heck am I even going to find the proper leathers and such, let alone ones cut to fit a person with my unusual (for a rocker) dimensions ? That and I'll need to find a good(not cheapo) wig, because I'm shaved bald.

To any of the guys around NYC, is Trash & Vaudville still open in the village ? The gauntlets and belts etc., will be easy to find. It's the pants(leather), shirts & removable hair that I'm concerned with. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

Harley-Davidson style biker shops as well as alternative lifestyle/fetish shops carry most of the leather goods you're looking for.

Biker shops are easy to find, and the fetish shops can be found online. It's safe to assume that TB rules don't allow for posting of direct links to the fetish shops. Hopefully, they send their stuff in plain brown wrappers

A good theater supply store should have the fake hair.

+1 to bike stores

Yeah most bikers are big guys, you shouldn't have a problem finding leather gear at a bike shop.... I used to live around the corner from a Harley and they had a big selection of leather jackets and stuff (in highland park) and when they had parties there I would always see some big dudes in big leathers.

I'd also hit up the Halloween shops you should be able to get their nicest wigs for nothing now.

Trash and Vaudville are still alive and kicking, but you might also want to try this goth store on 4th ave, and 7th? - I can't quite remember the exact cross street, but it's right by Webster Hall (which is a couple blocks from St. Marks Place, where T&V is).
You can't miss it - there's a giant gargoyle out front, and they've got a bunch of cool clothes as well that should work.

Actually I am even more impressed because i just looked at your profile and noticed your age. You are 2 years older than me, 30 pounds heavier but about 15% less body fat. Now I am depressed. lol

Trash is still around, but the second place you're referring to is, I THINK, called Gothic Renaissance. It's behind (and owned by) the Halloween Adventure Store.

I think my biggest issue will be finding leather pants that fit, or at least come close. I don't mind tailoring/modifications(within reason). I'm hoping we do go with the more current look, that will be easiest to replicate. The 80's(classic) look would be tougher. besides, lately I've been doing cargo shorts and Affliction or Tapout shirts in the 80s gig. This will be a real departure for me.
