Set list feedback - why not?

Ok, I don't want to prejudice people one way or the other by going into the band's current politics - you'll have a fair sense if you've paid attention to things I've posted elsewhere, otherwise don't worry about it. But anyway, I'm in a pop/rock cover band, basically a power trio plus female lead singer. She sings lead on about 3/4 of each set, each set I take one song to sing lead on and the guitarist three or four. We've played a few gigs (been together just under a year now), and aiming to do a lot more and gig as much as possible.

So here's the set list: I just curious what you guys feel are its strongest and weakest points and any suggestions for where it ought to go (more classic rock, more current stuff, more what?) to develop from here. Thanks!

Ah Leah – Donnie Iris
All Fired Up – Pat Benatar
All I Wanna Do – Sheryl Crow

I’m the Only One – Melissa Etheridge
Jenny (867-5309) – Tommy Tutone
Just a Girl – No Doubt
Kiss Me Deadly – Lita Ford
Last Name – Carrie Underwood

What is the age group you're mainly going to be playing for?
Bars? Corporate? Weddings?

Mostly bars and parties. We wouldn't turn down a wedding or corporate gig but haven't done much to plan on marketing ourselves that way. The age of band members range from 25 (drummer) to 40ish (me and lead singer) to 50ish (guitarist), and our most recent conversation was to try and have a flexible repertoire that could lean more recent for 20-30 somethings and more classic for 40-50 somethings, depending on the gig.

Of all the AIC songs to choose, I'm surprised you go for 'Got Me Wrong'. Have you tried one of their perkier acoustic numbers like 'No Excuses', or even a more balls out rocker like 'Dam That River'?

second that Alice in Chains question. That's a weird choice. I don't know the Dokken song (not sure I know any Dokken tunes at all.)
I think it sounds like a fun band. I love the police and if you have a good clean guitarist their older tunes can sound like a million bucks. I wonder if maybe canary in a coal mine and bombs away are a little on the obscure side though. !
I'm curious how you handle Ah Leah -- we tried this in my old band and couldn't get it to sound full without two electric guitars (we had one electric player and one acoustic player) or a keyboard. Plus the harmonies are tricky!

You have some great rockin' dance/party tunes, and some snoozers. Just watch the crowd. If a song gets them out on the floor = keeper. If they are on the floor and the next tune sends them back to the table = cross it off the list. :-)
