Should you get backing vocals credit?

If you are working on a live gig and its being recorded for future release and sale and as a bassist you also contributed with backing vocals do you think it should be credited with your name?.

Of course. The proper way to handle this is for whoever is in charge of the project to ask each musician how they wish to be listed, and list them that way.

I think anyone who contributes should be credited for it. But there is the school of thought that the singer/guitarist gets ALL the credit. That's never going away.

I guess it depends on whether you are a hired hand or not. Either way, you should get whatever credit you feel you deserve.

I do think you should draw the line at the drummer crediting himself with "tambourine, glockenspiel, marimba etc etc" a la Neil Peart...
