Song list

Hey all TBers

A friend of mine is some kind of phenonmenon with a guitar, he's been playing for year and years, but he's not into 'normal' music!

He play all these kind of 'weird' songs (for lack of a more descriptive word) which allow him to play a million different scales and do all these hammer ons and bends and what not...he does like hendirix and a bit of santana, but mention foo fighters, incubus..etc..the guy only barely knows about them, let alone their songs.

This has meant when we jam, we dont do so for long because we know very little of the same songs! and end up eating hot dogs and making milkshakes.

Sometimes we just try to make a progression for him to solo over, but thats not that great, and i dont know much about scales and pentonics and arpeggios and whatever else..i do know the major and minor scales though!

But anyway, he is going to hire a golf course clubhouse for his 18th and wants to play some numbers, and i was wondering if you guys have a nice list (maybe 10) of songs which are always good to cover at a party?

I was thinking:

Gunnes : sweet child, paradise city
hendrix: whichever songs he wants
santana: put your lights on
Foo: big me
Red hots: otherside, scar tissue

But then i get stuck because i would opt for some nirvana or something, and this needs to be happy party music which will allow him to showcase his guitar skills (im content to just be the foundation for his solos, since it is his party)

yeah so if you know some songs witch you think will fit in, and he will like playing and which the audience will like (like what covers always get the crowd going??)

then that would be great!

Screw happy. "Sucicide Solution" by Ozzy. If your friend doesn't know who Randy Rhodes was, then I pitty him for claiming to be a guitar player.

I dunno. What does the guitarist want to play? Maybe if we knew what he likes, we could make more focused suggestions.
