Hung out with the guys for a bit at the show...didn't play, but still had fun. first time seeing the band play instead of being on stage...definate difference in seeing them from the point of view of the audience. Wasn't bad (without the bass) but both covers were lacking as the bass was very fundamental in the 2 covers they played. Was a good night....for me anyway.

So... you're saying it was lame. It's OK to admit it. Without you get .

It's "The Troooper"!!! Do eeeet. =)

I think as long as you make it clear that you're not going to rejoin them on any kind of permanent basis, both bands should be okay with this. Besides it's Iron Maiden! Go have some fun.

it will probably be good closure. it will probably be fun. and it will probably be a nice reminder of why you quit.

I don't think I would do it for just one song. It takes me at least one song to get warmed up. If it was more like five songs or so I would do it. One song is like eating one potato chip. Just a tease.

It looks like Raymeous and Runlikegregg's advice was too late!

Like Jive and a few others, I've sat in on plenty of bands that I've quit, but only one that I was fired from. That one was awkward. The others where I quit on my terms were far more aggreable, and more "business" oriented.

The one where I was fired was far more personal, so personally it was very awkward. The weird thing was that since I was out of the band and didn't have the BL breathing down my neck and being hyper critical, I played far better, was more relaxed, and had loads more fun playing. Whenever the music stopped, that's when it got awkward again. As soon as we were done, I packed up as quick as i could and fled. In every other gig I've ever played, I stay for at least one drink with the remaining people and the staff. Not that night...

The other bands were far more agreeable and fun, both before and after I quit the band.
