Suggestions?

So I just got going with a band again (same guys but we're going to write new music and get some more fun covers). Anyway, aside from a couple songs that are fun the way they are we want to pick a few that we mess with. so far we've done our own version of "beat it" and I was thinkin' about doin' "Roll out the Barrel" (Beer Barrel Polka). But I was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions.

Interesting style ideas would be cool too!

Thanks

We used to do a cool rocked up version of Tom Jones' "It's not unusual" The crowd seemed to like it.

I play acoustic guitar and my guitard plays an amazing jazzy lead guitar line on Good Riddance (Time of your Life) by Green Day.

The song is become tired, but everyone that hears our version loves it.

One of my former bands did a punked up version of "Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves" that worked a charm.

I always thought a really good punk/hard rock cover would be "holiday road" by lindsay buckingham. Its the song from the vacation movies.

We use to play a dark marilyn mansonish version of "your so vain" by carly simon. It really went over with the crowd.

I think Damaged by Black Flag is a crowd pleaser

and of course, every cover band should play at least one song by Unsane, just to see who's really with 'em
