Does anyone know of any agents that match musicians to touring and/or hotel bands? Something like ProShip, but for land-based enternainment. Thanks!

double bump. my guess is that no good one exists.

but i have heard of this one interesting thing by the guy that made cd baby.

he is supposedly starting a company that will do all the dirty work like booking tours and finding contacts. i dunno, kinda under wraps. i think he plans to call it muckworks. maybe he it will happen, maybe he is talking out his ass

Somebody out there is missing out, if no one is doing this kind of management. How do some of these bands/musicians land the casino gig circuit or hotel circuit? I know some have individual agents, but surely not all of them. Anybody have any stories of how they landed any hotel/casino gigs?

The guitarist in one of my bands is a member of the tribe that runs a couple of casinos, and an employee. We got our foot in the door that way.

There are agents out there, but for whatever reason, they all seem to be regional; I don't think there are any nationwide agencies booking hotel/casino/resort gigs.

I think your comment about it being regional is probably correct. When I lived in Las Vegas, getting a gig was like pretty much anywhere else: who you know. I did run into a lot of guys who were coming in from LA. They were getting hooked up by agents.
