The Time Jumpers are nominated for 2 Grammys!

The Time Jumpers, a group that includes my lovely wife, have been nominated for two Grammys, including best country instrumental. I wanted to share a video of the instrumental for those of you who might be interested (since this is a bass forum, that's Dennis Crouch on upright...).

http://youtube.com/watch?v=vdNgw325heU

If you're a NARAS member and haven't voted yet, you might consider this to be a self serving plea to vote for my wife's band.

Awesome! I saw them last month there at the Station Inn. Every musician I talked to that weekend raved about them.

Is that from the live double cd?

Yep - the nomination was from the CD, while the video link is from the DVD, which is available at: http://www.live-recordings.com/

There are two female vocalists in the band; it happens that the two nominated performances are an instrumental (the one I posted the link for) and one that features Dawn Sears, the other singer, doing "Sweet Memories". Here's that one: http://youtube.com/watch?v=kh_T255pSiM And here's a link to my beautiful bride, from the same DVD: http://youtube.com/watch?v=tbacmmKvdeA

The DVD, "Jumpin' Time", is more than 2 hours long (and contains 26 songs); the youtube links are just a taste.

OK . . . but PLEASE help me out, too . . .

Vicente Fernandez' "Para Siempre" was nominated in Category 62, Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album. I recorded, mixed AND mastered that CD (I don't really like to do all three . . . I would rather share credits, letting someone else do the mastering . . . but the bosses at Sony said that there wasn't enough time to send it to Bernie Grundman's.)

I'd really like to put another frammed Grammy engineering certificate up on the wall

BTW, congradulations to ALL of "The Time Jumpers" folks . . . good work . . .

The steel player was great - search allmusic.com (or just google) for John Hughey; he was a legend...

NPT TIme Jumpers Special

This past Thursday night the NPT station in Nashville ran a 90 min. special on the TIme Jumpers. I have been going to hear them here for years and hands down they are the best group of musicians you will hear anywhere. It is great they are getting some recognition. I understand the NPT show may be syndicated to other public television stations.

Congratulations Dave and give our congratulations to the band.

Thanks,
Roger
