Too late to grab spring gigs???

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey everybody...I just a quick question...I'm a senior in high school... My friends and I have been "jamming" for almost two years now and recently we actually started writing songs as opposed to getting togther and just playing. We know each other very well and I love playing with these guys. I feel we could go somewhere...but my really question is is it too late to start grabbing spring gigs??? We'll all be in college next year so my main goal is to really just grab some local gigs and play with these guys. I know summer is a yes but we would like to get started now...

check us out...throw us some input...I'd love to here anything you'd have to say good or bad... http://www.myspace.com/zenithhigh
(BTW i personally think our singer doesnt sound to shabby for having no musical experience watsoever)

If you want a gig, anything's possible. We usually book our gigs about a month in advance. Go for it man.

From Southside Drive, the drummer could be a tighter. From Zenith, the singing isn't too bad. It gets REALLY off key on the chorus, but the verse isn't too bad. Reminds of RHCP on the whole.

Work on it and gig man. Nothing's better.

most clubs and bars book out 1 - 3 months in advance...most festivals book out 6 months in advance....

as far as constructive critcism goes...y'all are all young so take it with a grain of salt.....but just practice as much as possible...the drummer seemed pretty sloppy...tell him to settle down...cut back on the number of fills he is doing and just work on stick'n a groove...a group is only as solid as their drummer....and practice some more :-)

But yea....like i said the singer isn't half bad...he just needs practice...After we posted those new songs a local band in our school started talking to us...through their myspace I have been working diligently talking to our local bands....Possibly something by middle of march...but its a start and it makes me happy...I always love playing for a crowd..
