I'm heading to the uk in July in order to play on some reggae festivals with my new band. I'm hoping I can get some advice/contacts on booking some satelite shows, mainly in the uk.

The music is reggae/funk.check it out www.myspace.com/wearetheflavour. It is a fairly new band with established members in their own right. We've had a bunch of sold out shows here and have some good industry backing as well as airplay.
Alternatively if anyone feels we would work together on a bill we have been sponsored by Sony to video our adventures and would be sure to return the favour with some downunder exposure. Cheers

Sounds cool. Although there really arent all that many music shows here to be honest. I'm not sure how high you are aiming but there is a very popular show on the BBC called Later With Jools Holland. He will have a new series in September, if you are still here then.

He has alternative types of music as well as popular stuff, I'm guessing there would be a long waiting list as the show is very popular but it might be worth a go.

Heres the site www.bbc.co.uk/later.

Best of luck, and bear in mind I have no idea if it would be possible to get on the show. But based on what I have seen on the show it should be possible.

I know of one venue local to me that would be suitable, and may be able to fit you in - The Globe, Cardiff.

Their website is - http://www.theglobecardiff.com/

Their telephone number is +44 (0) 2920 230130. Ask for Owen Bowley.

Good luck!

When are you looking for Dates? Might be able to get you on one in Bristol on the 16th, With a Reggae hip hop band, and my jazz hip hop band? let me know asap, there will be hardly any money i'm afraid gigs around here are crap for original music and paying, but 90% of the bands bring it on themselves!!!

By 'satelite shows' do you mean shows on satalite tv?

Or do you mean shows around the area of a main show(s) you are doing.

Thanks for the replies people. I just realised that a post I made earlier didn't show.
So yeah, by satellite shows I meant shows surrounding the main dates we are playing. So we are looking to book some shows independently.
Brisbass did you mean 16th July?
If so this could be really cool, I'll pm you.
We'll also look at contacting the venue you mentioned globefish.
Fullrangebass did you have a contact for the Greece festival, I don't think the band was aware of this one?

Thanks a lot guys
